Reflection on Pre-k Chinese New Year Visits
As the Lunar New Year approaches, our Pre-k students are excitedly preparing for our annual New Year visits. During this festive season filled with rich traditional culture, we have learned a lot about the customs of New Year visits and demonstrated our understanding of respecting elders and practicing proper etiquette. However, upon reflection, we have identified some issues and areas for improvement.
Firstly, we have noticed that some children do not fully grasp the significance of New Year visits. They mechanically perform the greetings and recite New Year blessings without showing genuine respect and understanding towards the traditional culture. Perhaps we need more educational guidance to help children realize that New Year visits are not just a formal activity but an important way to carry forward the excellent traditions of the Chinese nation.
Secondly, we have observed that some children exhibit inappropriate behavior during New Year visits. For example, they may make negative comments or display temper tantrums while interacting with their elders. This could be due to a lack of understanding of respecting elders or influence from their external environment. We should strengthen education on etiquette and respect, helping children understand the importance of civilized communication with others.
Lastly, we need to reflect on the role of family education in New Year visits. In some families, New Year visits are merely a formal ritual, lacking true education on the cultural values behind it. Therefore, parents should actively participate in their children's New Year visits, not only helping them understand the meaning of these visits but also cultivating their love and respect for traditional culture from an early age.
Through this reflection, we have realized the importance of Pre-k Chinese New Year visits and the existing issues. In future education, we will pay more attention to educating and guiding children about New Year visits, enabling them to truly understand the significance and learn respect and etiquette through practice. Additionally, we hope parents can actively participate, working together to cultivate their children's love and respect for traditional culture, making New Year visits a meaningful cultural experience.
