西藏矿产资源丰富，已探明的矿产有100余种，矿产地600余处。主要矿产资源有铜矿、铁矿、铬铁矿、金矿、煤矿等。其中，西藏铜矿储量居全国第二位，仅次于江西；铬铁矿储量名列全国第一。西藏矿产资源分布广泛，但开采利用的矿床较少，开采的矿种主要是盐、硼、铜、铬、金等。

Tibet is rich in mineral resources, with more than 100 types of minerals and more than 600 mining sites having been explored. The main mineral resources include copper, iron, chromite, gold, coal, etc. Among them, Tibet's copper reserves rank second in the country after Jiangxi; chromite reserves rank first in the country. Tibet's mineral resources are widely distributed, but there are few minable deposits and the mined minerals are mainly salt, borax, copper, chromite, gold, etc.
