Using Which Indicators to Identify Bottom Divergence

Bottom divergence is an important phenomenon in technical analysis, often occurring when stock prices decline but technical indicators do not create new lows. Choosing the right indicators for bottom divergence is crucial for accurately judging market bottoms.

Among the many technical indicators, commonly used indicators for bottom divergence include MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence), RSI (Relative Strength Index), and KDJ (Stochastic Oscillator). These indicators assess bottom divergence by analyzing the relationship between stock prices and the indicators.

MACD, a trend-following indicator, shows the momentum of stock prices by calculating the difference between short-term and long-term moving averages. When MACD fails to create new lows despite new lows in stock prices, or even forms a bullish crossover, it is often a signal of bottom divergence.
